While the Covid-19 restrictions apply, this event will not be opened for entries.

 

CANCELLED Winter 5hr Snowgaine - Mt St Gwinear 25-July 

This event is now cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions.  In the unlikely event restrictions are unexpectedly lifted we will not be able to complete the planning work required to be able to run the event.

5hr:    Start time 10:00am  Finish 3:00pm

General Information:

Cross Country Ski or Snow Shoe this event we don't plan these to be different categories.  The 1st of August is the first planned date for this event. The 15th and 29th of August are backup days in case of unfavourable conditions such as poor snow coverage.

Location:
The event will be based at the Mt St Gwinear resort. Mt St Gwinear is a popular cross Country skiing location. Apart from VRA entry fees for the event, there is no entry fees to access the course area.

Course:
Set during the winter of 2019 and set higher up the mountain where there is more reliable snow. The course covers from near St Gwinear ski trails through to edges of the Mt Baw Baw ski resort area. Some checkpoints are in open areas, others among the snowgums.

Accommodation:

No Camping on the Mountain.  Accommodation at Moe or the small towns of Erica, Rawson or Walhalla.

Entry
Monitor our home page for Online Entry opened date.  We may not open entries until snow conditions are looking good.  

Event Entry Fees are:   
Adults  $32 
Junior $21  (under 18)   Juniors get free entry when in a team with an adult.

Final Instructions and Start location
Final instructions which includes start location and how to get there will be available on the VRA home page from Tuesday before the event.

Team lists included any outstanding payments will also be on the VRA home page from Tuesday before the event.

Please download and complete an Indemnity Form from the Public Entry page. ALL team members must sign the form.

Event Format:
TBC          Registration opens
09:45am   Briefing - All must attend. The start area is likely to be up the mountain, therefore team members will need to be ready to leave at 09:15am
10:00am   Events start
3:00pm     Event Finish
3:30pm     Approximate time of presentation and hopefully earlier.

No Hash House Meal

There will be no Hash House meal.  We hope to have hot water for tea, coffee and milo.
